Paul W. Feist, 71, of Spruce Street, Westerly, passed away on Monday evening, September 25, 2017 at the Apple Rehab/Clipper Home of Westerly. He is survived by his wife, Sharon L. (Travers) Feist of Westerly, his son, Mark Feist of Lincoln, his daughter, Heide Feist Zuniga of Spring, TX, his daughter, Suzanne Feist-Nunes of Providence, a total of seven grandchildren, his sister, Jeanne Feist and nephew, Michael Ashfield, both of Chicago, IL.

Mr. Feist was born in Chicago, IL on January 28, 1946, the son of the late Werner and Dorothea Feist. Paul proudly served our country as a staff sergeant on the USS Seawolf in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Service Medal. He was a power plant foreman for many years at Pfizer. Before his illness, Paul was a member of the Westerly Lodge of Elks, the Knights of Columbus and Jaycees of Westerly. Paul was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, where he was an usher, a volunteer in the Marriage Encounter Program, Engaged Couples Program and serving meals in the Senior Citizens Program. Paul was active in his children’s sports and after school programs. He loved music, dancing, spending time at the beach and was an avid car enthusiast.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm Street, Westerly. There will be no procession from the funeral home. There are no calling hours. Burial with full military honors will be held at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Funeral services are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
