William D. Richmond, 72, of Teal Drive, Green Hill, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday morning, April 9, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Nancy A. (Shortman) Richmond of Green Hill, his son, Frederick “Will” W. Richmond and his wife Dyana of West Warwick; his son, Denison R. Richmond and his wife Alissa of Westerly; five grandchildren, Brett, Blake, Max, Brody and Jake; and three sisters, Adelaide, Caroline and Deborah.

            Mr. Richmond was born in Providence on March 21, 1945, the son of the late Frederick and Adelaide (Briggs-Bennett) Richmond Sr. and was the brother of Robert Richmond and Donna Hallene. William served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Technical Specialist 5. He was a sharpshooter who earned the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device. William was employed as an assembler at the Davis-Standard Company.

He loved golfing, fishing, playing cards, searching for sea glass and watching the sun set over Teal Pond.

            Funeral services will be private and are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
