Erick E Delacruz Estrada

Erick “Bebe” Eduardo Delacruz Estrada, 32, of Pierce Street, Westerly, passed away at home unexpectedly on Monday, January 15, 2024, after a long-term battle with diabetes.

Erick was born in Mexico City, Mexico on February 11, 1991. He graduated from Stonington High School in 2010. Erick was a passionate chef and worked for many years at Filomena’s in Waterford, CT, as well as other local kitchens throughout his career.

When Erick wasn’t working, he was enjoying the simple things in life like spending time with his friends and family, playing video games, dancing to reggeton music, cooking family meals, and practicing becoming a tattoo artist. He made an instant impact on everyone who met him. Erick was incredibly loving and kind.

He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, share himself and evoke that same spirit of love and fun in each person he knew. Despite his own difficulties and hardships, Erick was always able to bring cheer when someone was feeling down or lend a hand to a friend in need. He loved with a fierce loyalty. Erick stood out from others with his unique social nature and a contagious smile. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories and hilarious sense of humor. He truly brought the life to the party.

Erick was the youngest of four children. He is survived by his father, Pedro Delacruz Lopez of Westerly, his mother, Maria Teresa Estrada Guzman of Mexico, his eldest brother, Victor H. Delacruz Estrada and wife Sarah, his sister, Patsy B. Delacruz Estrada and her three daughters, and brother Ricardo M. Delacruz Estrada. Erick will be deeply missed especially by “Su Familia,” as well as, many other friends and family members who love him greatly.

A private celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 10th, 2024, with family and close friends. Funeral services are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
