Marie F. (Fortin) Gilman

Marie F. (Fortin) Gilman, 72, of Robin Hollow Lane, Westerly, passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 17, 2023 at the Westerly Hospital. She is survived by her husband, David W. Gilman of Westerly, her daughter, Holly Gilman, son, Nate Gilman, grandson, Brady Gilman, brothers, John Fortin (Jennifer) and Larry Fortin (Nancy) and sister-in-law Maryann Fortin. She was predeceased by brothers, David Fortin and Stephan Fortin.

Mrs. Gilman was born in Middletown, CT on August 25, 1951, the daughter of the late Laurent and Bronya K. (Kuczun) Fortin. Marie graduated from St. Joseph College with a degree in Elementary Education. This was followed by serving as an administrative officer in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Later in life, she became certified in Special Education and taught in Westerly, RI for 25 years prior to retiring.

There will be no services at Marie's request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
