Biography

Wilfred E. Debigare Jr., 60, of Maxson Hill Road, Ashaway, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 22, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his mother, Doris E. (Crandall) Debigare of Bradford, his wife of 38 years, Patricia E. (Staplin) Debigare of Ashaway, his son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Tanja Debigare of Laverne, TN, his daughter and son-in-law, Malinda A. and Lee Williams of Fort Polk, LA, his daughter and son-in-law, Antoinette M. and Jeremy D. Gears of Ashaway, his daughter and son-in-law, Monique E. and Justin Wilmar of Westerly, eight grandchildren and his sister, Bertha Church of Hope Valley.

Mr. Debigare was born in Westerly on May 4, 1949, the son of the late Wilfred E. Debigare Sr. and Doris E. (Crandall) Debigare of Bradford. He was a sergeant from 1966-1972 in the United States Marine Corps who served his country proudly in Vietnam. For many years, Wilfred was a machinist at the Fisher Control Company in North Stonington. He was a member of the Free Masons – FMA#20 at the Franklin Lodge, was a NASCAR fan and loved to fish and hunt. His true passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:00 am at Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery Columbarium Chapel, Exeter.
