Joseph F. Chiaradio, Jr., 47, of Stone Hill Drive, Westerly, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 12 years, Laura T. (Shellard) Chiaradio of Westerly; his two precious sons, Cole (9 years) and Brayden (6 years); his brothers James J. Chiaradio and Frank S. Chiaradio, both of Westerly; his sisters Christine A. Chiaradio of Westerly, and Elena M. Chiaradio of West Warwick; several nieces and nephews, and other close family members.
Mr. Chiaradio was born in Westerly on March 19, 1962, the son of the late Joseph F. and Elena (Guido) Chiaradio, Sr. Joe’s lifelong love of the sea and the outdoors led him to become a successful commercial fisherman where he was well known to many on the water. He was also employed with Rose’s of Groton, CT. Joe spent time with his family and friends enjoying vacations, cooking for family gatherings, and sharing time with his sons at their recreational activities. With his love for the outdoors, Joe participated in countless bass fishing tournaments. He also took great pleasure in hunting and was a past member of the Bradford Gun Club where he cooked many game dinners. He will be missed for his ribbing sense of humor and outgoing personality. All of his life, Joe had a gift of giving, and as an organ donor he will continue to give and live on through the lives of others.
