Biography

Rose M. (Sposato) Limanni, 91, of Charles Avenue, Westerly, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, surrounded by her loving family and caretakers at Watch Hill Care & Rehab of Westerly. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Richard J. Limanni in 2005. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine M. and James M. Behan, Sr. of Westerly, her grandchildren, Deanna Rushlow – wife of John of Stewart, FL, Melanie J. Bliven of Westerly, Lisa A. Alicchio – wife of Anthony of Westerly, Jamie Silva of Westerly and James M. Behan, Jr. of Westerly, her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Chase and Hope Rushlow, Alexa & Lily Terranova, and Rachel and Erica Silva, her brother, Angelo “Lee” Sposato of Westerly, her sisters, Nellie Riley of Pawcatuck and Minnie Roberts of Westerly and several nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by three brothers; Joseph (Pappa) Sposato, Frank (Brown) Sposato, and Samuel Sposato, and two sisters; Roseann Clark and Ann (Mo) Sposato.

Mrs. Limanni was born in Westerly on April 5, 1919, the daughter of the late Antonio and Bomina (Bruno) Sposato. Rose was a local waitress for many years, working at such restaurants as Snuffy’s of Watch Hill and the Bradford Room Restaurant. She was a constant presence at the Westerly Senior Center and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm Street, Westerly. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Pawcatuck. Calling hours will take place on Friday, July 9 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
