Life Legacy
Doris M. (Vacca) Jessop, 95, of Merchant Village, Westerly, passed away on Monday evening, April 23, 2012 at the Groton Regency Nursing & Rehab facility in Groton.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Beverly Jessop of Westerly, her son, William Jessop of FL, her daughter, Mary Burroughs of Pawcatuck, her sister, Florence Buck of Pawcatuck, her brother, Sylvio Vacca of Pawcatuck, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her son, Donald Jessop, her daughters, Virginia Jessop and Madeline Martin, her grandson, David Jessop, her sisters, Evelyn Carreira and Lena Souza, her brothers, Mike, Rocco, Gilto, Ernest, Louie, Joe and Henry.
Mrs. Jessop was born in Westerly on July 28, 1916, the daughter of the late Antonio and Marie (Vincenzise) Vacca. She was the former owner/operator of the Doris Rest Home of Ashaway and Bradford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm Street, Westerly. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. Calling hours will take place on Friday, April 27 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
