It is with great sadness that the McIntosh family announces the death of Gene (Geno) T. McIntosh, 69, of Richmond, RI, who passed away on Tuesday evening, July 18th, 2023. Gene was surrounded by those who loved him.
He was born March 5, 1954, in Providence, RI, son of the late Robert and Irene (Picard) McIntosh. After Gene graduated from Pilgrim High School in 1972, he went on to attend The University of Rhode Island before establishing himself as an outstanding creative Lighting Designer. Gene had a wonderful 40+ year career as a Theatrical Lighting Designer touring the world with a variety of well known bands and artists.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Fiona, and his daughter Kara Eilidh McIntosh, who was the light of his life. Gene was a selfless man whose passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones.
A most loving husband, Gene was always supportive of his wife Fiona, and was a true partner in every way. Along with his absolute love for stage lighting, Gene was passionate about his baseball team. Many a summer was spent along with his wife and daughter following the Boston Red Sox from one ballpark to another. As a man of true integrity, Gene focused on providing his wife and daughter with the best life possible. He valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man’s word. To his daughter, he was a devoted father, making sure to instill his values as well as the importance of education. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever ingrained in all those he knew. Gene will be most remembered as a genuinely talented, thoughtful, caring, and kind
man who was always ready to lend a helping hand. He may have left this world but not our hearts.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Gene with his family during a celebration of life at 7 Pine Shadows Drive, Richmond, RI on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 4-6 pm.
