Kathleen A. (Thatcher) Richards

Kathleen Ann Richards a resident of Charlestown, RI passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on May 13th. She was the wife of the late Peter Richards, daughter of Estelle Laura (Lasky) Thatcher and Norman Ross Thatcher Sr. Kathy was a graduate of Veterans Memorial High School in Warwick, RI, School of Hair Dressing in Warwick and a proud graduate of the University of RI, where she also worked for 21 years in Dining Services. Kathy also served as the Welfare Director for the Town of Charlestown for 21 years. When her children were younger, she drove a school bus for Charlestown Elementary School. Kathy loved to travel and has traveled all over the world and throughout the USA, where she made many friends along the way. Kathy leaves behind 3 children, Scott Richards of Charlestown RI, Heather Richards of Ledyard CT and Jill Lusk of Charlestown RI, 2 Grandsons, Joshua Tefft & wife Vanesa of MA, Seth Richards & wife Anne of MA, 2 great grandchildren, Adalyn & Savana Tefft of MA, brothers Robert Power & Bruce Chandler of Newport RI and the late Norman Thatcher Jr. and Stephen Crooker, and her constant companion her cat, Maddox.

Donations can be made to Charlestown Animal Shelter or Hope Health Hospice of Providence.

A memorial service will be held at Shannock Baptist Church at 11am on June 14th with a gathering afterward. Please join us in celebrating a life well lived.
