Kenneth D. Brasier

Kenneth D. Brasier Jr., 73, of Maxson Hill Road, Ashaway, passed away on Thursday morning, September 7, 2023 at the Miriam Hospital in Providence. He is survived by his companion, Patricia E. (Staplin) Debigare of Ashaway; his former spouse Celina Brasier (Petrin) of Stonington Connecticut; his son, Sean Brasier (Dolly) of Columbus, New Jersey; his son Kyle D. Brasier (Amy) of Westerly; his sister Carole Visser (Don) of Whitman, Massachusetts; his sister Joyce Cusick (Gene) of Dunnellon, Florida; and his grandchildren Addison, Della, Autumn, Kallen and Enix.

Mr. Brasier was born in Attleboro, MA on December 27, 1949, the son of the late Kenneth D. and Florence (Brindle) Brasier Sr. He was a proud member of the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War where he earned numerous medals, while protecting others. Upon his return home, he received his master’s degree after schooling at Bryant University and Johnson & Wales University. He was well known by many as an employee at the Westerly Sun and, post-retirement, returned to serve his community as an area school bus driver.

Funeral services will be held at the First Hopkinton Seventh Day Baptist Church, 8 Church Street, Ashaway, RI on Friday, October 6th, 2023 at 10 am. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Funeral services are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly, RI.
