Lena J. Sisk
Pawcatuck - We are saddened to announce the passing of Lena J. Sisk, who left us at the age of 76 on June 19th, 2024.
Lena was a beloved wife to David for 50 years and a devoted mother to her three children, Dean (spouse Kara), Caroline (spouse Peter), and Elizabeth (spouse Bryan). She was a cherished grandmother to five grandchildren who she adored immensely. Lena is also survived by her siblings Michael Gervasini, Paula Merdink, Carla Servideo, and Arthur Gervasini, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband David, and her parents Eugene and Lena Gervasini of Westerly, RI.
Lena attended Westerly High School and continued her studies at Mount Saint Joseph College. She dedicated her career to education as a teacher at St. Michael School, where she touched the lives of many students before retiring.
From her earliest days, Lena exhibited a remarkable passion for life and a genuine interest in the well-being of others. She was happiest when surrounded by family, cherishing her grandchildren, and commandeering the kitchen to make her famous chicken cutlets. Lena had a passion for golf and enjoyed spending time on the greens with friends. Her energy, humor and sarcasm will be dearly missed by all.
Lena exhibited grace and strength in the face of Alzheimer’s and always maintained a positive demeanor. Though she may no longer be with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 27th, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Michael Church, 60 Liberty Street, Pawcatuck. Burial will take place at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck, CT.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
