Mary A. (Mamie) Gaccione

Mary (Mamie) A. Gaccione, 93, of Haswell Street, Westerly passed away on Sunday morning, March 2, 2025 at the Westerly Hospital. She was pre-deceased by her husband Angelo, married 57 years at the time of his passing and eleven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son David M. Gaccione (Sara) of San Diego, CA, daughter Donna G. Smith (Daniel) of Westerly, son Ronald (Cynthia) of Westerly, six grandchildren, Brian, Allison, Shawn, Evan, Sam and Avery and three great grandchildren, Maeve, Ophelia and Senna.

Mamie worked for many years at Roxy’s after which she continued to make her much loved pizza for family and friends. Mamie was a devout Catholic who attended mass daily along with countless hours of adoration. She could often be seen walking through town before morning mass and offering to help those she came across along the way, always available to anyone who needed her especially family and friends.

Mamie’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Royal Nursing Home, the Westerly Hospital ER and third floor nursing staff for their kindness, compassion and care. A memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High Street, Westerly on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10:00 am. Per Mamie’s wishes there are no visiting hours, and burial will be private and at the discretion of the family.

Funeral services are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
