Rita M. (Bulley) Rooney

Rita M. (Bulley) Rooney, 91, of Westerly, passed away on Sunday morning, December 3, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was pre-deceased in 1989 by her husband, Francis N. Rooney D.M.D., a Navy veteran. She is survived by her three daughters, Maureen A. Rooney of Westerly, Lisa M. Zinser (Ken) of Charlestown, RI and Linda J. Rooney of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Stephen J. Greenwell Jr. (Karen Godfrey) of Katy, TX and Amanda Clifford (Jon) of Richmond, RI and three great-granddaughters.

Mrs. Rooney was born in Malden, MA on January 15, 1932, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Argentine (Gendron) Bulley. She was a homemaker. Later on, she was the office manager for her husband’s dental practice in Narragansett for ten years before their retirement in 1988. She loved gardening, reading, desserts, and her family.

Funeral services at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery will be private.
