Robert E. Arnold (“Zeke”) died January 20, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Living Center, Windham, CT.. He was born in Ashaway, RI on December 18, 1931 to the late Eldred A. and Alice (Main) Arnold. He was a graduate of Westerly High School and a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from July 1951- July 1954. He married the Love of his life, Dorathea Mae Leach on February 13, 1954 at Christ Episcopal Church, Westerly, RI. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons; Michael and Angela Arnold of Westbrook, CT., David and Rosemarie Arnold of Westerly, RI., Stephen and Lynn Arnold of Rotunda West, Florida, Mike (“Joe”) and Sherry Ponder of Coventry, RI., three daughters; Janet and Arnold Perkins of Summerfield, Florida, Carol and John Martins of Pawcatuck, CT., Dottie Jean and James Franklin of Atlanta, TX., a brother Peter Arnold of Ledyard, CT., a sister Janet Morgan of Hopkinton, RI., 16 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grand Children. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Dickie Arnold and a sister, Linda McDonough. Zeke was an experienced carpenter and cabinet builder. He worked at the former Hiscox Builders in Westerly, RI and at the Bradford Dye Association, Bradford, RI. He retired as a Welding Supervisor after several years at Pfizer, Groton, CT. Upon retiring, he and Dot spent time traveling and residing in several warmer states before Returning to CT. in 2018. Funeral services, with Military Honors, will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI., at the convenience of the family. Services will be private.
