Robert “Bob” George Delicato, 84, of Bellevue Avenue, Westerly passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, May 7, 2023 at the Westerly Hospital after a brief illness. Bob was born on November 3, 1938 in Westerly to the late Armando and Rose (Comforti) Delicato. Bob resided in Westerly his entire life.
Bob graduated from Westerly High School in 1956. He attended Mitchell College in New London Connecticut. After graduation Bob enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan for over two years. After being discharged from the Army, Bob worked at General Dynamics Electric Boat for 36 years, retiring as a design supervisor.
Bob was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed watching baseball, basketball, football and hockey games. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing almost every day with friends and was a member of the Winnapaug Golf Club for many years.
He is survived by his sister, Rosemarie Delicato of Stonington, his nephew Tim Killam and his wife Nikea of Bradford and their children, Brent, Tony & Ryder. He is also survived by his loving dog of many years Shelby along with many cousins and friends.
Honoring Bob's wishes, services will be private. The family would like to thank the Hospice team and Smilow Cancer Center at Westerly Hospital for their compassionate care during Bob's illness. Funeral services are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
