Sheila Mary (Palliser) Martel

Sheila Mary Martel passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on October 27, 1936, in Lancashire, England, she was the beloved daughter of John and Nelly Palliser.

Sheila's life was marked by love and family. In Lancashire, she met and married her first husband, Jeffrey O'Brien, with whom she shared a cherished journey that included a move to the United States and raising three children: Karen Oliver, Michelle O'Brien (Amy), and Michael O'Brien.

Later in life, after Jeffrey’s passing, Sheila found love again with her second husband, Ronald Martel.

She was a devoted grandmother to Christina Giacobbe (Joseph), Jason Fisher (Shawna), Mark Fisher (Aimee), Jeffrey Jackson (Michelle), and Cara Smith (Philip).

Sheila took immense joy in her role as a great-grandmother to Julian, Andrew, Camryn, Connor, Ethan, Brennan, Michaela, Liam, Madalyn, Joseph, Harper, Lucy, Bella, Lilly, Natalie, and James.

Sheila's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service for Sheila Mary Martel will be held on Friday, July 12th, at 11:00 AM at Central Baptist Church in Westerly, RI. Family and friends are invited to join in remembrance and celebration of Sheila's life.
