Vanessa R. Spears

Vanessa R. Spears, 22, of Westerly, RI entered the spiritual realm on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Zambarano LTCH in Burriville, RI due to complications from her catastrophic brain injury which resulted from a road traffic incident 3.5 years ago. She is survived by her mother, Jacquelyn Anderson of CT, her father Shannon Spears, her brother Andrew, her sister Emily, her close family friend Oliviah, her Grandmother Barbara Hutchinson and her uncle Michael Hutchinson.

Vanessa was born in Westerly, RI on February 24, 2001. Vanessa loved gymnastics. From age 5 through high school, she enjoyed and excelled at gymnastics, receiving her training at Sea Side Dance & Gymnastics of Westerly. She was also an accomplished artist and cheerleader. She loved animals and butterflies and spending time at the beach. Vanessa was a loving, caring and special friend who will be held close in many peoples hearts.

Funeral services will be private. Funeral services are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
