Veronica M. (Hepworth) Cornelius

Veronica M. (Hepworth) Cornelius, 82, of Cross Street – Babcock Village, Westerly, and formerly of Wintechog Road, North Stonington, passed away on Saturday morning, August 24, 2024, at her home. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Francis R. Cornelius and her siblings Ann Stiner and Joseph Wayne Hepworth. Veronica is survived by her son, Francis R. Cornelius II, husband of Debbie, her son, Paul A. Cornelius, husband of Amy, of Westerly, her daughter, Hope Mitchell, wife of Andy of North Stonington, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cornelius was a loving mother and grandmother. She spent her time knitting and crocheting blankets and baby sweaters for her grandchildren and local hospital(s).

Mrs. Cornelius was born in Voluntown, CT on May 1, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph and Jean (St. Martin) Hepworth.

Private funeral services will be held at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Funeral services are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
